Hey guys...greetings from Accra-Ghana. Those of you that failed geography in school, Accra is in the capital of Ghana which located in West Africa.
Forgive the long pause but you know Africa...network is bad here oh...lol
I finally did it guys, well half way. I finally plucked the balls to move from dreary old England to chase my dreams, as glamorous as it may seem, in actual fact the reality of the situation could not be more further from the truth but I have faith that God will work it out in my favor.
After nearly a year of graduating, I had only had a Christmas temp job in New Look as a retail assistant and an event hostess job at Hampton Court Palace for about 6 months all together. I had also been on job seeker’s allowance which gave me £105 every 2 weeks including countless interviews and wasted trips up and down the country.
I understand the economical climate and all that ‘wahala’ but I thought I cannot become one of the many people who hold degrees in one thing but are working in roles does not even require on to be a graduate. I began to ask myself what is the point of all my efforts to graduate in the first place?
Personally, I do not believe in settling for less because of the obstacles in front of you now but rather see every obstacle as an opportunity to overcome and becoming an achiever. A lot of people in the UK are not happy with what they are doing but because it pays their bills, they are willing to JUST settle.
Call me naive but I am only 22years old, if I don’t take chances now, when am I going to do it? When I’m 30years with 3 kids and a husband?
No!
I refuse to be a statistic or just ORDINARY!
And you can quote me on this!
So wish me LUCK because I need it...!
